Conclusion

Learnt many important things while designing for packaging.

Value: Luxury product may need to have premium packaging; a lower priced product should have a more cost-effective design. A product could have a negative impact in customer perception if it’s not properly designed.

Readability: How it can result in poor sales of the product where images, fonts and colour should be carefully designed to display all necessary information on the package.

Functionality: About how people would discard the packaging after use and also the functionality of the design.

Eye catching design: How to make it standout to grab the attention of the consumer.

USP: Communicating with Unique Selling Point of the product and it can be the price, a new feature and so on. (e.g.: new flavor-“strawberry”, key benefit-“weight gain”, shelf life-“180 days pack” etc.)
